Homework sheets
Setting homework on a regular basis can be a real problem for music teachers. Your school may have a homework policy which applies to all subjects, yet music can be a difficult “homework” subject because of its practical nature.

It’s often hard for teachers to ask pupils to continue with practical work begun in class since all pupils may not have the necessary equipment (keyboards, recording equipment etc) at home.

Classroom music teacher Jon Raybould is only too aware of this, so he has written two complete sets of homework sheets:
Music Masters Volumes 1 - 3
Keyboard Masters Volumes 1 and 2
(5 volumes in all) which have proved highly successful.

The worksheets fulfil the following criteria:
1) They are self-contained (each sheet is based on a particular topic)
2) They feature instructions to the pupil enabling them to complete the work with very little or no teacher explanation
3) They generate work which is “easily markable” - very important for busy, stressed, overworked teachers!
4) They feature clear-cut activities such as straightforward copying work, unravelling the order of paragraphs, answering questions directly related to the text, giving simple TRUE or FALSE answers, filling in blank spaces, simple multi-choice answers, drawing and filling in grids, and unmixing jumbled-up facts and definitions.
5) The content and layout of the sheets is highly varied, attractive, and FUN wherever possible.

Needless to say, these worksheets are not only ideal for the setting of regular homework tasks, but also useful for general-purpose worksheets, for example in the situation when work has to be set for supply teachers or in case of staff absence.
